Going into NBA All-Star weekend we knew the league had changed up a few rules to the game and renamed the MVP award in Kobe’s name as a tribute to him.
The NBA had multiple tributes for Kobe over the weekend, but before the game on Sunday night they brought in some big names for an assistance. TNT shared a two-minute clip of Kobe highlights with a Dr. Dre-produced soundtrack playing in the background.
Later at the United Center, Jennifer Hudson took center stage to perform a rendition of Donny Hathaway’s “For All We Know (We May Meet Again)” while a slideshow of Kobe and his daughter Gianna played behind her.
Lastly, before Common introduced the All-Star lineups he performed a spoken-word to honor Kobe. No disappointments from all that was done this weekend.
