Danny Brown was definitely one of the more active rappers for this decade, but decided to step back from the music world after his 2016 album Atrocity Exhibition. Luckily, he’s returned from his hiatus with a new album–uknowwhatimsayin¿
The Detroit emcee went in a different direction this time around as he got the living legend Q-Tip to executive produce the album. “If I didn’t get help, with somebody to find a direction, I didn’t know what the fuck to do at that time,” Brown says. “Going back to the beginning, going back to the basics. Dope beats, dope rhymes, not thinking too hard about nothing – just whatever’s dope is dope. It ain’t about no crazy concept.”
Set up with 11 songs, led by “Dirty Laundry,” there are features from Q-Tip (of course), Thundercat, Run the Jewels, Blood Orange, JPEGMAFIA and more.
