NFL Partners With Jay-Z & Roc Nation For Entertainment and Social Justice Campaign

"I turned down the Super Bowl; you need me, I don't need you."

The NFL has had its ongoing battles with players, Colin Kaepernick more-so than any, taking a knee during the national anthem as a form of peaceful protest for the social injustice African Americans have faced.

Jay-Z was a known supporter of what Kap was doing and trying to accomplish; so much so that Hov turned down the Super Bowl halftime performance in 2018 and many others followed suit.

Kap reached a private settlement with the NFL in February on the grievance case that was filed against the league. Now, Hov and Roc Nation announce their partnership with the NFL to be involved in the entertainment side of things (co-produce the Super Bowl) as well as play a big role in the “Inspire Change” initiative by the league.

NFL Commisioner Roger Goodell told The New York Times, “We don’t want people to come in and necessarily agree with us; we want people to come in and tell us what we can do better. I think that’s a core element of our relationship between the two organizations, and with Jay and I personally.”

Congrats to Hov and Roc Nation on another power move!
