Meek Mill and JAY-Z are teaming up once again, this time around the two are partnering to launch Meek’s well known record label: Dream Chasers Records.
The label is being launched via a joint venture with Roc Nation, where Meek will head the label and build a staff to sign and develop new artists. Meek is also looking into opening a new studio in New York for his artist to use.
Meek spoke with Rolling Stone regarding the deal, “I think the time is now. I’m 32 years old, I’m in a nice spot in the music business and I think it’s time for me to focus on growing artists because that’s what I love to do. I love to spend time on helping artists grow, and I think it’s time for me to dive in, business-wise.”
In other Meek Mill news, his decade-old drug and weapons conviction that has kept him on probation for his entire adult life so far has been thrown out! Meek has been granted a new trial with a new judge(!!) but sources say it is “highly unlikely” that prosecutors will retry Meek.
Meek is officially free, congratulations!
