21 Savage Released From ICE Custody

Welcome back.

After nearly ten days in custody, ICE has allowed 21 Savage to be released on bond pending a deportation hearing.

21’s legal team provided TMZ with the following statement:

21 Savage asked us to send a special message to his fans and supporters — he says that while he wasn’t present at the Grammy Awards, he was there in spirit and is grateful for the support from around the world and is more than ever, ready to be with his loved ones and continue making music that brings people together.

He will not forget this ordeal or any of the other fathers, sons, family members, and faceless people, he was locked up with or that remain unjustly incarcerated across the country. And he asks for your hearts and minds to be with them.

News broke out Sunday (2/3) afternoon of 21 Savage getting arrested by the Immigration & Customs Enforcement over claims that he is from United Kingdom and has overstayed his visa.

21 Savage, born Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, is said to have come to America as a child in July 2005 and his visa expired a year later. 21’s attorney said, “We are working diligently to get Mr. Abraham-Joseph out of detention while we work with authorities to clear up any misunderstanding.”

This whole situation and story has been crazy and to add to it, Daily Mail has uncovered 21’s birth certificate which shows that he was born in London.
